APC Denies Withdrawal of 2027 Presidential Campaign Council List

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has dismissed reports that it has withdrawn the list of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the claim as mere rumour.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification on Tuesday while responding to reports suggesting that the APC had reversed the recently released composition of the campaign council.

Morka maintained that there was no basis for the reports, stressing that any decision to alter the list would be officially communicated by the party.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the APC spokesman said the party would formally announce any changes to the campaign council if such adjustments became necessary.

The clarification comes shortly after the ruling party unveiled the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, with President Bola Tinubu expected to seek another term in office.

The announcement had generated considerable reactions within the APC and among political stakeholders, particularly over the inclusion and exclusion of some prominent figures.

The controversy subsequently triggered speculation that the party might review the composition of the campaign structure. However, Morka’s latest statement indicates that the reported withdrawal has not occurred.

The APC is expected to intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential election as the party seeks to consolidate its political structure and support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
