2Baba Breaks Silence: Blackface Has Always Tried To Ruin Me

The ‘True Love’ singer admitted he’s baffled by Blackface’s repeated online attacks, stating that he doesn’t understand the motive behind the persistent criticism.

“It was a collaboration, but I actually wrote most of the song. Still, we worked on it together. I’m not one to argue publicly or drag issues. I honestly don’t know what I did to him. I’ve always treated him with respect, but he constantly tries to tarnish my name. It’s absurd, ridiculous, and very painful. Even now, I still ask myself—why? What’s the reason?”

Meanwhile, 2Baba also opened up about his separation from his wife of over a decade, Annie Macaulay. The ‘African Queen’ star, who married Annie in May 2012, confirmed their divorce in January 2025 and revealed he is now in a relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

Speaking on the 234 Mzansi Podcast, 2Baba explained that although they gave their best to the marriage, they eventually parted ways after realizing it could no longer work. He praised Annie as an incredible woman but stressed that people shouldn’t feel obligated to stay in unhappy relationships.

He also controversially added that, in his view, it is “biologically impossible” for men to be sexually loyal to only one woman.
