The Kano State chapter of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has vehemently opposed the suspension of Governor Abba Yusuf and the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso from the party, labeling these actions as illegal. Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, the NNPP Chairman in the state, conveyed this stance during a press briefing in Kano on Monday, dismissing the moves as “laughable” and orchestrated by expelled members of the party. Dungurawa criticized the credibility of the suspension and expulsion, questioning how a group of expelled members could impose such measures on Governor Yusuf, the sole NNPP governor nationwide, and on Kwankwaso, the party’s National Leader. He described the actions as absurd and insisted that the authentic leadership of the NNPP, duly elected by its members nationwide, remains undeterred and focused on advancing the party’s agenda of good governance across Nigeria.
Despite these challenges, Dungurawa emphasized the NNPP’s resilience and continuous growth in membership nationwide, despite what he termed as malicious external interference.
