According to the audited financial statements filed with the Nigeria Exchange Limited on Friday, the company’s revenue surged by 216% to N718.3m, up from N227.3m in 2023. Nigerian Enamelware PLC specializes in the manufacturing, marketing, and sale of enamelware, plastic products, and galvanized buckets within Nigeria.
The increase in revenue was overshadowed by a rise in the cost of sales, which escalated to N530.6m from N254.5m. This increase was primarily driven by higher material costs and additional production overheads. Meanwhile, administrative expenses saw a marginal reduction of 6.4%, decreasing from N107.7m to N100.8m.
Earnings per share plummeted sharply by 254% from N22.18 to a loss of N34.17, reflecting the company’s challenging financial position. Similarly, net assets per share declined by 141% from N24.08 to N9.79, indicating a decline in shareholder value.
The company encountered cash flow difficulties, with net cash provided by operating activities dropping to N1.0bn from N1.6bn in the previous year. Despite these financial setbacks, Nigerian Enamelware PLC maintained stable employment with 91 employees and sustained its shareholder base at 3,268 individuals.
During the reporting period, the company’s tax burden was alleviated, as it paid N33m, significantly lower than the N885m paid in the preceding year, due to deferred tax amounting to N9m.
