Kalu acknowledged the right of every Nigerian to protest but emphasized that the current timing could lead to significant adverse effects on the country. Having served as governor of Abia State and as the immediate past Chief Whip of the Senate, Kalu stated, “While national protests can contribute to our democracy, they may not be conducive to our economy.”
“I appeal to our youths to consider postponing the planned August protest to prevent potential damage and liabilities to the country’s infrastructure and private businesses,” Kalu added.
