Following a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Tinubu on Monday, Tunji-Ojo asserted that the current administration is addressing key issues effectively. He highlighted the fuel subsidy removal and the introduction of student loans as significant steps towards national development.
Tunji-Ojo remarked, “This government is addressing critical issues and ensuring that all necessary measures are in place. If removing subsidies and implementing student loans are considered signs of bad governance, then the concept of good governance is unclear.”
Naija News also reported that Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, advised the protest organizers to reconsider their plans. Idris emphasized that President Tinubu is already addressing public needs and warned that the protest could be hijacked and turn violent. He urged organizers to pause their protest, noting that the government is making efforts to alleviate food shortages and meet other essential needs.
