Acting Chairman Mukhtar Lugga discussed this during a press briefing in Gusau on Friday, highlighting the contrast between Zamfara and neighboring states where protests have turned violent and resulted in looting.
Lugga stated, “Residents of Zamfara are pleased with the current administration. The government’s achievements are notable, including its emergency declarations in education and health, and the settlement of outstanding gratuities.”
He also mentioned the administration’s infrastructure improvements, such as road construction, school and hospital renovations, and support for agricultural businesses.
Despite acknowledging the general economic hardships, Lugga expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to address the country’s socioeconomic challenges.
He called on residents to remain law-abiding and support their leaders in overcoming national issues. Gusau and other towns in Zamfara have seen no protests, with the state remaining quiet on the second day of the demonstrations, which are expected to run until August 10.
