President Bola Tinubu has called a Council of State meeting to discuss critical national issues. According to the press statement from the Presidency, “President Bola Tinubu has summoned the Council of State meeting today, bringing together Gowon, IBB, Abdulsalami, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Buhari, and other key figures.”
The Council of State is composed of the sitting President, the Vice-President, all former Presidents, former Heads of Government, former Chief Justices of Nigeria, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, all state Governors, and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation.
