Fully Loaded BRT Bus Overturns In Lagos, Multiple Injured

At least 10 people were injured when a fully loaded high-capacity BRT bus overturned on its side within the dedicated Bus Rapid Transit lane along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway near Iyana-Ipaja today, August 23.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported the incident on X, stating that it happened around 7:45 am. LASTMA is responsible for managing traffic and enforcing traffic laws in Lagos State.
According to LASTMA, “A fully loaded high-capacity bus fell on its side inside the dedicated lane (BRT lane) with a record of 10 casualties (victims), who were taken care of.”
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide medical aid and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time.
