Minister of State for Youths, Mr. Olwande Wisdom, highlighted that while Bachelor’s Degree and Higher National Diploma holders benefit from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, NCE holders have not had a similar opportunity.

Speaking at the BEMORE OYO 2024 Summer Bootcamp in Ibadan on Monday, Wisdom announced that the Ministry of Youths would collaborate with the Ministry of Education to create an equivalent training program for NCE graduates. He emphasized that while social issues have persisted, organizations like the Boys’ Brigade and Girl Guides have played a significant role in guiding youth.

Wisdom stated, “Our main focus is on citizenship and training, and we are working to reintroduce these programs. We have the NYSC for university graduates, but NCE holders and others have been left out. We aim to establish a training system that is accessible within each state, so there’s no need to travel far for it.”

He also noted ongoing reforms and the administration’s commitment under President Bola Tinubu to inclusively engage every Nigerian youth in development projects.
