His younger brother, Oladimeji Peter, confirmed the news in a heartfelt tribute posted on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday night. Peter expressed his grief, recalling how Olorungbede had been a significant mentor and support in his career. He wrote, “It is sad to hear you are gone. As an actor, you gave me courage. You were the first director to invite me to a movie set and not only pay me but also take care of my food and accommodation. How can I write my stories in this industry without mentioning your name, EGBON? Through you, I met many people and learned so much. Good night, boss man.”

As of now, the cause of Olorungbede’s death has not been disclosed. His passing comes shortly after the death of Nollywood actress and film producer Sharon Okpamen, who died shortly after giving birth to her second child. Okpamen had announced the birth on Instagram before her passing, which was later confirmed by fellow movie producer Stanely Ontop.
