Hajiya Dada, mother of the late former Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, has passed away. She died on Monday evening, September 2, at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina following a brief illness.

In addition to being the mother of President Yar’Adua, she was also the mother of the late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.

The family will announce the burial arrangements in due course.
