Kano Police Confirm Death Of Notorious Robber Abba Burakita

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of the notorious armed robber and thug, Abba Burakita.
According to reports, Burakita, who was declared wanted in 2023, had previously surrendered to the police with 40 of his followers, announcing his departure from criminal activities.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the police spokesperson, confirmed that Burakita sustained severe injuries during a clash with rival groups and died while receiving treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano.
On August 30, 2024, police received reports of armed robbery incidents involving Burakita’s group and another led by Halifa, both of which targeted residents of Dorayi Quarters. In response, the Commissioner of Police deployed teams to the area, leading to the arrest of Burakita and two other suspects, Abubakar Idris and Najibullah Yahaya, who were also involved in the crimes.
