Adedayo Bankole, CEO of Barnksforte, has urged Nigerians to exercise caution in managing their personal data. He acknowledged that while cybercrime is a global issue, efforts are underway to implement industry-leading standards for data transmission and protection. Bankole emphasized that data protection laws are being enforced to ensure secure data handling and verification processes.
“We are deploying advanced technology and rigorous scrutiny to safeguard data,” he said. “Criminals are constantly seeking to misuse data, and we are committed to strengthening protective measures.”
During the event, President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Gorge Akume, reiterated the importance of unique identity as a fundamental right for protection and support in society.
