Zamfara Governor Alleges Predecessor Matawale’s Full Involvement In Banditry....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has accused Bello Matawalle, the current Minister of State for Defence and former Zamfara Governor, of being deeply involved in banditry during his tenure.

In a September 18 interview with Television Continental (TVC), Lawal alleged that Matawalle not only engaged in banditry but also harbored bandits in the Zamfara State government house.

Lawal stated, “Based on all the information we’ve received, it is clear that my predecessor was deeply entangled in banditry issues. For instance, there was a permanent secretary whose children were abducted, and it was reported that ransom was paid through the government house. This is indicative of how bandits were sheltered.”

The current governor expressed his dissatisfaction with the appointment of Matawalle as Minister of State for Defence by President Bola Tinubu, calling it unjust to the people of Zamfara. He urged Matawalle to step down and address the allegations against him, suggesting that resignation would be a more honorable course of action.

“If I were him, I would resign and address these accusations before returning to any public office,” Lawal added.

Matawalle served as the Governor of Zamfara State from 2019 to 2023.
