A federal lawmaker representing the Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in Edo State, Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. Okojie, who is married to Nollywood star Mercy Johnson, was reportedly attacked by armed men suspected to be political thugs at his residence in Uromi on Friday morning.,….CONTINUE READING
The incident was confirmed by Okojie’s media aide, Michael Ihaza, in a statement. According to Ihaza, the attackers arrived at the lawmaker’s residence in a Lexus GX 470 with a Rivers State registration number – PHC 253 FF.
The assassination attempt was thwarted due to the swift intervention of security personnel assigned to the lawmaker. The armed thugs, who posed as police officers along with two accomplices, entered Okojie’s home under the guise of having an appointment and made their way into the sitting room before being confronted by the security team.
