The winner will assume office in Osadebe House, currently held by Governor Godwin Obaseki, who will complete his two terms on November 11.

Peter Uwadiae, Publicity Secretary of the APC in Edo, expressed his party’s confidence, citing their campaign efforts as evidence of readiness. He raised concerns, however, about potential disruptions by political thugs.

Similarly, Dr. Pedro Obaseki, Deputy Director General of Media for the Ighodalo campaign, voiced worries about the process being hijacked by thugs, while Sam Uruopa, Public Relations Officer of the LP, affirmed Akpata’s preparedness and urged INEC to maintain fairness in the process.

INEC has confirmed the distribution of election materials across the state’s 18 local government areas, assuring the public that the election will proceed smoothly.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu urged all stakeholders to maintain peace and civility during the election.

Security is heightened, and the Inspector General of Police has ordered restrictions on movement to ensure a peaceful election process.
