Fagbenja explained that he was leaving his brother’s house when a group of angry riders confronted him, accusing him of being a police informant. He described being attacked with dangerous weapons until some Good Samaritans intervened and rescued him.

In an interview on Monday, Fagbenja detailed his attempts to seek justice from the police, which he claims have been unsuccessful. He visited the Ipaja Police Division to report the incident, but the Divisional Police Officer, Alagolo, allegedly rejected his complaint.

He recounted, “While I was still in the hospital, I managed to visit the nearby Alagolo Police Station. I told the officers about my ordeal, and they took me to the DPO. When I explained my situation, he suddenly became angry and shouted at the officers, insisting they should not bring any police-related motorcycle cases to him again.”

After this encounter, Fagbenja was reportedly sent away without any further assistance. “I was left stranded on the station premises, and as of now, I have yet to receive any justice,” he lamented.

Narrating the events from his hospital bed on September 3, Fagbenja said he had gone to Abesan Estate with a friend to inspect a car for his Uber business. After spending time at his brother’s house, he left around 7 PM and noticed a disturbance as task force officials loaded motorcycles into their van. He walked past them to buy some items from a nearby trader.

Just after his purchase, a young man confronted him, accusing him of being associated with the police. Initially, Fagbenja ignored the accusations, but the situation escalated as the man claimed he recognized Fagbenja from earlier police activity. Surrounded by a group, Fagbenja was attacked.

He attempted to escape into a nearby building, but the mob caught up with him, beating him severely with iron rods, sticks, and bottles. “I could barely see as my eyes were affected,” he said. In a moment of desperation, he called for help from a passing woman, who alerted neighbors to his plight. They rushed to his aid and helped him escape his attackers. Afterward, he was taken to the nearest police station to report the incident.
