Tragic Reactions Emerge Following The Death Of Former Governor’s Son In Fatal Road Accident On Kaduna Highway Written By Oshiobugie John– Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, the son of former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has tragically passed away following a devastating road accident.

A family source, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed the heartbreaking news to Daily Trust, stating that the young man lost his life in the crash.

According to reports, the tragic accident occurred on the Kaduna-Zaria highway on Saturday evening. The source revealed, “The accident happened along the Kaduna-Zaria highway. Faisal was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where, sadly, he was pronounced dead. His father, Ahmed Makarfi, was present at the hospital, and preparations for his burial have commenced.”

Faisal, a civil engineer by profession, had an impressive academic journey. He began his education at Kaduna International School before moving on to Adesoye College, Offa in Kwara State for secondary school. He later pursued both undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of Greenwich in London, and was working towards his PhD at the same institution.

While many expressed their deep condolences, the tragic news also attracted a range of reactions online, some of which were highly insensitive. Here are some comments from social media users:

  • Franuel: “Hmm. Something is going around, but the target audience is still wrong.”
  • Declutter: “Oh no, Makarfi was one of the good governors of Kaduna state tragic loss.”
  • Priscilla: “May we never die young, RIP TO HIM.”
  • Hope: “Let’s be sensitive with our comments.”
  • Samantha: “This one una politicians’ children just dey kpai, which of una don go do juju?? .”
  • Nenny: “Makarfi was a good Governor if I remember correctly (I was just a kid though). Even if he wasn’t, his son is not the politician, why the insensitive comments haba.”

While the family mourns the untimely loss of a young man with a bright future, many have called for more sensitivity in how people respond to such tragedies. The mix of heartfelt sympathy and harsh, unfeeling remarks highlights the emotional divide that often surfaces in moments like these. Faisal’s death is a painful reminder of the ongoing dangers on Nigeria’s roads, and his loss is deeply felt by those who knew him and admired his father’s contributions to Kaduna State.
