In his address, Obasanjo praised Aiyedatiwa for his dedication to connecting with the people and sharing his vision for Ondo State, despite the challenges of campaigning. He commended the governor’s determination and courage in presenting his plans and programs to the public.

Wishing Aiyedatiwa success in the upcoming election, Obasanjo reflected on his own experiences from past campaigns, particularly his 1999 run for the presidency. “I understand the challenges of this period for you. I remember my campaign for the 1999 election. I covered the entire six states of the South West in one day. We started here in Akure, then went on to Ekiti, and reached Lagos around 8 pm. This is a crucial part of the process, and I wish you all the best,” he said.

In response, Aiyedatiwa expressed deep gratitude for Obasanjo’s contributions to the development of Nigeria, noting that the former president’s achievements had left a lasting legacy. He also highlighted Obasanjo’s humility, saying that despite his prominent military background, he had always been a leader with a deep sense of compassion and humanity.
