Identifying the perpetrator as Tochukwu Samuel O., Akintunde expressed frustration over the growing trend of online impersonation and the harm it causes to the reputations of hard-working individuals. She questioned how Nigeria could progress when such malicious actions undermine the efforts of those striving to build their names and careers.
Akintunde urged her fans to ignore any requests for money from the impersonator, emphasizing that any communication from the fraudster is not from her. She called on the public to help report the scammer’s WhatsApp and bank accounts to prevent further harm.
In a heartfelt message, she said: “What a morning. Tell me how this country wants to be great when so many are struggling and working hard to build their name and brand, only for one person to take their pictures and name to defraud people. Who raised such a person? May they never find peace. Please disregard any message from anyone in your DMs or WhatsApp asking for money. It’s not me, I don’t own that number. I’d appreciate it if we could find a way to report both the WhatsApp and the Opay account. Tochukwu Samuel O, this will not end well for you. You took my picture and profile name, but you won’t prosper. Your days are numbered.”
