Goodluck Jonathan And Fubara Recognized With Traditional Titles In Rivers CeremonyFormer President Goodluck Jonathan has been bestowed the title Eze Udo 1 of Nigeria (King of Peace) by the Etche Traditional Rulers Council, during a grand ceremony celebrating the 10th anniversary of HRH Dr. Ken O. Nwala, the King of Etche Kingdom in Rivers State. In his speech, Governor Fubara praised Jonathan for his steadfast support during some of the most challenging moments of his administration, though he refrained from disclosing specific instances. “That is why I canceled all my engagements to personally receive him and attend this event together,” Fubara said, describing Jonathan as both a father figure and an embodiment of humility.

The governor noted that Jonathan’s presence at the ceremony was a testament to his commitment to fostering unity and mutual respect. “His humility is priceless, and coming to celebrate with the Etche people shows his simplicity and belief in unity,” Fubara remarked.

Fubara also expressed deep gratitude to Jonathan for his assistance during difficult times, stating, “Not everything I can share, but I know he has stood by me through tough times. The least I can do is to be here and honor him.”

In a separate address, Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Rivers State, particularly regarding infrastructure development. He promised to complete the Egwi-Afara-Mba road project within six months, emphasizing that his administration would continue to work toward fulfilling its pledges to the people.

He assured his supporters, saying, “Your support is deeply appreciated. We will not let you down. In return, we will continue working to bring progress to Rivers State, ensuring no one who supports us faces shame.”

During the ceremony, Fubara also pledged N100 million to support the completion of the Etche King’s palace project, underscoring his administration’s dedication to empowering traditional institutions. He lauded HRH Dr. Ken O. Nwala for his 10 years of leadership, urging him to continue guiding his people with the fear of God.
