Fubara’s Attacks On Wike’s Contributions Deemed Hypocritical By WokeChukwuemeka Woke, a former Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State and current Director-General of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), has strongly criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara over recent remarks he made about projects in the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Fubara, during the launch of various projects in Ahoada and Etche, mocked some infrastructure initiatives undertaken by his predecessors, specifically a road constructed in Omuma Local Government Area. The Governor described it as a “farm road that leads to nowhere.”
Woke, in a statement on Friday, condemned Fubara’s comments, calling them both troubling and hypocritical. He argued that belittling essential infrastructure, such as the road linking farmers to markets, is counterproductive, particularly when the Governor is simultaneously promising new projects to enhance transportation.
“How can you disparage critical infrastructure that supports economic activity, while pledging new road projects? This is hypocrisy masked as ignorance,” Woke said.
He further emphasized that Fubara’s ridicule of former Governor Nyesom Wike’s projects was not only factually wrong but also misleading. “To undermine Wike’s work, which has had significant positive impacts on the community, shows a lack of appreciation for the groundwork laid by previous administrations,” Woke said.
Woke also raised concerns about Fubara’s apparent disregard for the achievements of his predecessor, suggesting that the Governor’s actions could reflect a deeper, more concerning tendency. “If Fubara is willing to dismiss Wike’s contributions, even to the point of refusing to execute projects in Wike’s community, it speaks volumes about his character. His actions should be a cause for concern, especially for those who may not fully understand his intentions,” Woke added.
Woke also reflected on Fubara’s previous role as the State Accountant General under Wike, noting that the Governor’s rise through the ranks during Wike’s tenure suggested a level of political deception. “We were all misled by his pretentious persona while serving as Accountant General, where he was promoted above his peers by Wike. Leadership maturity requires more than just holding a title,” Woke concluded.
