In a statement released on Friday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, Mohammed noted that this warning came in response to a rising number of assaults on FRSC personnel, especially since the commencement of the Corps’ end-of-year special patrol, ‘Operation Zero Tolerance to Road Traffic Crashes’, on December 15.

Mohammed highlighted that attacking FRSC officers undermines their authority and hampers efforts to reduce road traffic accidents and fatalities. He also reminded the public that the law, including the Nigerian Road Traffic Regulation 2012, and the Criminal Code, prescribes severe penalties for those who assault law enforcement officers.

The FRSC Corps Marshal urged that any grievances with officers should be addressed through legal channels, ensuring the safety of all road users and upholding the integrity of law enforcement processes.
