President Tinubu Explains Why He Won’t Investigate Security Chiefs Despite Security Concerns

Speaking to journalists on Monday night during a media chat about his administration, Tinubu expressed confidence in the performance of the security chiefs and emphasized that he would not undermine the institution by threatening probes.

“I’m not probing any service chief,” Tinubu affirmed. “You cannot disrespect the institution with the threat of a probe, and you can’t fight this war without investing in technology and weaponry. They are operating under challenging conditions in a vast country with many forests and unoccupied spaces. I give them credit for their efforts, and I am proud of what they are doing. There’s no need for a probe.”

In addition, Tinubu reiterated his stance on corruption, declaring that it is detrimental to the people.

During the same media session, he explained that increasing the minimum wage to ₦70,000 was part of his administration’s strategy to combat corruption. He emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of corruption to effectively tackle it.
