This shocking disclosure comes just days after a video of him cruising in a classy Mercedes went viral, sparking mixed reactions among netizens.
VDM Addresses the Hack: In a heartfelt update shared via a recent video, VDM explained the ordeal:
“For the past few days, I haven’t been myself, and it hasn’t been easy. The truth is that somebody hacked into the NGO website, and 180 million naira is missing. We have tracked the person, and they’ve arrested one. The account now has 20 million, but 160 million naira was diverted. I am on my way to Jos, and hopefully, I will be able to recover everything.”
The activist launched the NGO weeks ago with the mission of using donated funds to support struggling Nigerians amidst economic hardships. The initiative garnered significant attention, especially after music mogul Don Jazzy contributed a whopping 100 million naira to the cause. However, the recent cyberattack has left many questioning the security measures in place for managing such donations.
The Mercedes Controversy: Addressing the trending video of him driving a luxurious Mercedes, VDM clarified that the car does not belong to him. He revealed that it was a borrowed vehicle, putting to rest speculations that he might be misusing funds meant for the NGO.
“That Mercedes isn’t mine,” he said, adding that the timing of the video and the hacking incident was purely coincidental.
