The respondents requested the adjournment, citing a scheduling conflict with a Supreme Court hearing in Abuja on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The tribunal rescheduled its proceedings for Wednesday, January 15.
The petitioners’ legal team expressed concern over the late notice, revealing they were informed of the postponement request on January 12. Despite this, they agreed to the delay, provided no further interruptions occur.
A PDP member, Goodluck Osaretin, criticized the adjournment as a stalling tactic, alleging it mirrors earlier efforts to block their inspection of BVAS machines. He stated, “Justice may be delayed, but it will not be denied. The APC and INEC manipulated this election, and we are here to reclaim our stolen mandate.”
The tribunal is now expected to reconvene on Wednesday for the continuation of the hearing.
