Former National Human Rights Commission Chairman, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has cautioned political parties and individuals against collaborating with Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Odinkalu’s warning came after ex-lawmaker Shehu Sani criticized El-Rufai for his recent remarks targeting President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Sani accused the former governor of hypocrisy, alleging that El-Rufai practiced tyranny during his tenure but now promotes democracy after leaving office.
El-Rufai had recently condemned the APC government, accusing it of straying from its founding principles and endorsing poor leadership. Despite responses from the ruling party, El-Rufai reiterated his criticism, asserting that he would have voiced the same concerns if he were part of Tinubu’s cabinet.
“If I had remained in the Tinubu government, I would say or do the same—first privately, then publicly if no remedial actions were taken. Check my public service record from 1998,” El-Rufai said.
Reacting to Sani’s post on X, Odinkalu declared that any political party or individual working with El-Rufai on a national platform is destined for failure.
“I keep saying it: Any party or person that seeks to work with him towards a national platform is & will be doomed,” Odinkalu wrote.
