Davido Reacts To Tems’ Grammy Victory: “She Deserved It” After Beating Wizkid, Burna Boy, And Others

Tems secured the Best African Music Performance award for her hit song, “Love Me JeJe”, surpassing competition from Burna Boy, Asake, Wizkid (with their joint track “MMS”), and others like Yemi Alade, Davido, and Lojay, who contributed to Chris Brown’s “Sensational.”
This marks Tems’ second Grammy win, adding to her growing collection of accolades.
In response to her remarkable achievement, Davido took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday to express his pride in the singer. He wrote: “Congratulations to my one and only! @chrisbrown! And to the Queen @temsbaby we are proud of you!”
Since breaking into the scene in 2020, Tems has collaborated with global superstars such as Drake, Rihanna, and Beyoncé. She was nominated in three categories this year — Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Album, and Best R&B Song — making her the most nominated African artist at the event.
Her debut album, “Born in the Wild”, released in 2024, features her standout track “Love Me JeJe”.
