President Bola Tinubu presided over a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja. This marks the second FEC meeting of the week, following the earlier session held on Monday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During Monday’s meeting, the council approved several key proposals, including the completion of the Oyo-Ogbomoso road project and the licensing of new private universities across the country.

While the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting remains undisclosed, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, had previously announced that another session was scheduled for today.

At the start of the meeting, the council observed a minute of silence in honor of two late former members—Adenike Oyagbola, Nigeria’s first female minister under President Shehu Shagari’s administration, and Chief Edwin Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Education and later Information.

As of the time of filing this report, the meeting was still ongoing.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has refuted claims that he labeled the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Rivers State political crisis as reckless.

In a statement on Wednesday, Obi clarified that while he may not agree with the ruling, he never described it as reckless. His remarks, he emphasized, were misinterpreted and taken out of context.
