Reports reveal that Nwaeke had praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in the state, claiming it helped prevent chaos and economic sabotage. During a press briefing on Friday in Port Harcourt, Nwaeke accused Fubara of being the mastermind behind the political unrest in the state, alleging that the governor was responsible for the destruction of public assets and had hidden motives that could have led to anarchy.

Nwaeke also stated that his resignation was a voluntary decision and not a result of any external pressure or dismissal.

In response, Fubara dismissed Nwaeke’s accusations as laughable and urged Nigerians to disregard them. In a personal statement on Saturday, he said, “The truth is that Dr. Nwaeke has been compromised, and whatever he is saying is simply part of a scheme to fulfill his promise to those who may have paid or coerced him to lie against me.”

Additionally, a series of WhatsApp messages Fubara sent to Channels Television appeared to show that Nwaeke had been seeking financial support from Ehie in exchange for his loyalty, claiming that his ₦500,000 salary was insufficient to meet his needs.
