In a statement released on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Oginni Olaposi, the NNPP distanced itself from Kwankwaso’s recent remarks, asserting that they do not reflect the views of the party.
The party also publicly apologized to President Tinubu and the APC, particularly its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, for what it described as Kwankwaso’s “unprovoked insults and derogatory comments.”
“We unreservedly apologise to President Tinubu and the APC leadership for the offensive statements made by Kwankwaso,” Olaposi stated. “He has long been expelled from the NNPP and no longer represents our values or direction.”
Olaposi emphasized that Kwankwaso is no longer a member of the NNPP and warned him to refrain from using the party as a platform for political attacks.
The party reaffirmed its separation from Kwankwaso and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, stressing that its current leadership under founder and Board of Trustees Chairman, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, is focused on constructive contributions to national development.
“Dr. Aniebonam has consistently upheld respect for constituted authority and has never engaged in reckless political rhetoric,” Olaposi added.
He reiterated that recent criticisms of President Tinubu are solely Kwankwaso’s personal opinions and do not reflect the stance of the NNPP.
