The warning came during a meeting held at the Ovwian Community Town Hall, where party leaders rallied support and encouraged members to remain steadfast in reclaiming what they described as the party’s “stolen mandate”—from the local level up to the presidency.

Former PDP Ward 7 leader, Odjeku Matthew Uparan, expressed concern that those currently trying to lure members away were once beneficiaries of the party’s goodwill.

He reassured members of the PDP’s commitment to their trust, saying the leadership will not falter in its loyalty.

“There’s no other party in Ovwian Ward 7 except the PDP,” Uparan declared. “Don’t let anyone fool you into joining the APC. If they come knocking, tell them to stay in their APC—we’re staying with our PDP.”

Another party chieftain, Lawson A. Oghoifo, added that those who defected to the APC had always been a source of trouble within the PDP. He said their departure has brought renewed peace and unity, which calls for celebration.

“The PDP is now free from internal chaos,” Oghoifo stated. “We’re not fleeing because we’re not thieves. Only thieves run—we haven’t stolen anything, so we’re standing firm in the PDP.”
