Adefarasin, during a Sunday sermon streamed live on his church’s YouTube channel, dismissed claims that he was seen holding a firearm in the viral video. He described the allegations as false, damaging, and fueled by individuals he called “clickbaiters chasing money.”

The respected clergyman stated the accusation was a serious blow to his reputation, stressing that he has never owned, handled, or pointed a firearm at anyone. He further explained that the video was recorded on a Saturday — a day he typically observes as his Sabbath — and claimed the content creator violated his personal space.

Reacting on (formerly Twitter), Tacha condemned Adefarasin’s remarks as a form of gaslighting, criticizing what she sees as a pattern among Nigerian pastors, who, according to her, often exhibit such behavior within Nigeria but avoid it abroad.

She added that if someone like Seyi Tinubu or Nyesom Wike’s son had been involved in a similar incident, social media — especially the Nigerian space on — would have erupted in outrage.
