The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has tendered an apology to dignitaries and invited guests over the sudden postponement of his scheduled State of the State address.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The address, originally slated for Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Imo State House of Assembly, has now been put on hold indefinitely.

In an official statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, the government expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the change in schedule.

“The State of the State address earlier scheduled to be delivered by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Governor of Imo, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, has been postponed. A new date for the address will be communicated in due course. The government sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused to invitees and other stakeholders,” the statement read.

The address was expected to highlight the administration’s achievements, ongoing challenges, and future plans, with key figures from across the state, including traditional rulers, in attendance.

Meanwhile, Governor Uzodinma has reaffirmed the growing popularity of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that recent defections to the ruling party are a testament to its performance and leadership appeal under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting with Delta State APC leaders at the Imo Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum said the recent defection of Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his political structure from the PDP to APC underscores the party’s strength.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, Governor Uzodinma added, “Their decision to join the APC shows the growing admiration for our party nationwide. People naturally gravitate toward progressive and effective leadership — qualities the APC has continued to deliver under President Tinubu’s visionary guidance.”
