Videos circulating online reveal a significant deployment of security personnel, including armed officers, stationed at the complex entrance. Stricter screening procedures were enforced before granting anyone access to the premises.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had earlier, on Saturday, July 19, reaffirmed her intention to return to legislative duties, citing a recent ruling by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
However, on Sunday, July 20, the Senate spokesperson and Chairman of the Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, countered her claim. He stated that the court’s verdict was merely an “advisory opinion” and not a binding order on the Senate.
