Northern Marginalisation? That’s A Lie! — NNPP Fires Back At Kwankwaso’s Claims
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has strongly refuted recent allegations by its 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who claimed that the Federal Government is marginalising the North, particularly in the area of road infrastructure under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released on Sunday by the party’s National Secretary, Olaposi Ogini, the NNPP dismissed Kwankwaso’s remarks as unfounded and inflammatory, accusing him of attempting to destabilise the already delicate political environment.
The party said Kwankwaso’s comments were deliberately divisive, noting that his pattern of making unverified and controversial claims was part of what led to his expulsion from the party. It also highlighted that these actions have spurred several legal disputes and misrepresentations of the party’s official position.
Contrary to Kwankwaso’s assertion, the NNPP argued that current data shows the North is receiving more federal road projects than the South. The party urged Northern youths to critically evaluate the government’s ongoing developments and Kwankwaso’s own public service record — including his time as a senator, minister, and governor.
The NNPP advised the region’s youth to disregard Kwankwaso’s claims, stating:
“The NNPP is deeply concerned by Kwankwaso’s recent unfounded claims of Northern marginalisation under the Tinubu government.
“It is disappointing that someone who has served as a senator, minister, and governor would resort to making baseless allegations that could incite tension.
“As the 2027 general elections approach, more political misinformation may arise, but it is imperative that public figures are held accountable for statements that could undermine national cohesion.
“The facts speak for themselves — Kwankwaso’s allegations lack merit and only serve to cast doubt on his true motives.”
