Sh*ck In Lagos: Fugitive Pastor Nabbed For International Drug Trafficking
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested Prophet Adefolusho Aanu Olasele, also known as Abbas Ajakaiye, founder and General Overseer of The Turn of Mercy Church, over his alleged role in coordinating multiple illicit drug shipments into Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the cleric was captured on Sunday, August 10, 2025, after months on the run abroad to evade arrest.
“Prophet Adefolusho was apprehended at his church in Okun Ajah, along Ogombo Road, Lekki, Lagos, on Sunday, August 3, 2025. NDLEA operatives, who had monitored the premises since morning, moved in on him immediately after he stepped out following the conclusion of the evening worship service,” the statement read.
The arrest followed two earlier failed attempts to capture him, during which he fled to Ghana to hide. This manhunt began in June after authorities linked him to two major seizures of “Ghana Loud” — a potent strain of cannabis.
The first bust, involving 200kg of the drug, took place at Okun Ajah beach on June 4, 2025, while a second haul of 700kg was intercepted from his delivery van on July 6, 2025.
In his confession, the suspect admitted smuggling the drugs via waterways from Ghana into Nigeria and confirmed that he had fled to the neighbouring country after twice evading capture in recent months.
