Renowned Nigerian music producer Spellz has opened up about his unforgettable studio experiences with some of Nigeria’s biggest stars — Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Tiwa Savage.

In an interview with Punch, Spellz praised the unique energy and artistry each singer brings to the studio, describing every session as a learning experience and a source of inspiration.

Speaking about Wizkid, he said the Starboy’s precision and clarity make recording effortless.

“Wizkid knows exactly what he wants the moment he hears a beat. That kind of focus makes the process smooth and enjoyable,” Spellz noted.

On Davido, he described the DMW boss as an energetic multitasker and a natural sound engineer.

“Working with Davido is always vibrant. Even while taking business calls, he remains focused on the music. Early in my career, he literally gave me a crash course in sound engineering — that stuck with me,” he revealed.

For Burna Boy, Spellz recalled his early sessions as “crazy but magical.”

“I’ve never seen Burna write lyrics — not with a pen or phone. Everything comes straight from his mind to the mic. Watching him build songs is like watching someone solve a jigsaw puzzle in seconds,” he said.

He also commended Tiwa Savage for her unmatched discipline and perfectionism.

“A Tiwa session isn’t complete without ice cream,” he joked. “But beyond that, she’s a perfectionist who pushes everyone around her to deliver their best.”
