Speaking in Awka on Sunday, shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared him winner of the 2025 governorship election, Soludo—who secured a second term alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim—hailed the outcome as a testament to the people’s confidence in his leadership.

Reflecting on his first victory in 2021, Soludo noted that the 2025 election witnessed a remarkable improvement in voter participation.

“Four years ago, you gave us your mandate when BVAS was first introduced, and voter turnout was very low. We were elected with about 112,000 votes,” he said.
“This time, you have spoken even louder. With about 22 percent of registered voters participating, Anambra has broken the 20 percent ceiling for the first time.”

The governor highlighted that his re-election placed him among the few leaders in Anambra’s history to win a second term since 1999, emphasizing that the level of support he received was unprecedented.

“In 2010, a governor was re-elected with roughly 31 percent of votes cast; in 2017, another with 56 percent. But this time, you re-elected us with 73 percent of the total votes. That is the highest level of endorsement any governor has ever received in Anambra,” he stated proudly.

Soludo pledged to accelerate development projects across the state, promising that his second term would surpass the achievements of his first.

“We applied for this job, and you hired us four years ago. Now, with your renewed trust, I assure you—the best is yet to come,” he said.
“As the Americans would say, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ Together, we will build an Anambra that works for all.”
