Mercy Johnson, in a post shared on her Instagram page, had stated that Regina was only a teenager when she tied the knot with the politician.

Reacting via Facebook, Ossai dismissed the claim as false, asserting that Regina was 19 years old at the time of her marriage in 2019, not 17.

He accused Mercy Johnson of spreading misinformation and cautioned the public against circulating age-related narratives that could harm the couple’s relationship.

Ossai wrote:

“Mercy Johnson should stop spreading lies. Regina was not 17 when Ned got married to her. Ned married Regina Daniels in 2019, and Regina was born on October 10, 2000 — making her 19 at the time.

I’m disappointed with this age narrative. No marriage is perfect; we all have our issues. Let’s stop pushing stories that can destroy the love still existing between Regina and Ned.”
