Tinubu Reacts To Oyebamiji’s Selection As Osun APC Governorship Candidate

The President also commended the Osun APC for the unity and reconciliatory spirit that characterised the primary, which was conducted through affirmation.

Oyebamiji secured the ticket after being unanimously affirmed by 1,660 delegates, having been nominated by one of the aspirants, Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and seconded by Senator Babajide Omoworare, another aspirant.

Speaking at the primary, Adegoke explained that the affirmation was in line with the decision of the APC National Working Committee, adding that all other aspirants had stepped down in support of Oyebamiji.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu applauded the aspirants who withdrew from the race, describing their actions as a demonstration of party loyalty and collective commitment to the APC’s values.

The President urged Oyebamiji to show magnanimity in victory by reaching out to party leaders and former aspirants to foster inclusiveness and unity as the party prepares for the next phase of the political process.

Declaring the party’s readiness for the 2026 governorship contest, Tinubu said the effort to reclaim Osun State for the progressive family had commenced, calling on all APC members in the state to remain united, focused and determined, assuring them that victory was within reach.
