The controversy started after an audio conversation, allegedly involving Apostle Psalm Okpe and another pastor identified as Martins, also known as Martin Ugbulu, surfaced on social media. The recording contained unverified allegations about Apostle Chikere and made references to Eucharia, quickly sparking reactions within religious and entertainment circles.

The audio also included claims about a woman supposedly engaging in inappropriate conduct during an alleged private encounter, though no evidence was provided to back the assertions.

As the recording gained traction, Apostle Psalm Okpe later issued an apology, admitting that the claims were based on hearsay and should never have been discussed publicly.

Responding during a live video broadcast, Eucharia dismissed the allegations, describing them as a failed attempt to tarnish her reputation and damage her public image. She also issued a stern warning to bloggers and online commentators who spread defamatory content about her.

“They wanted to destroy my name, but God intervened. There was a plan to stain my image, but it failed,” she said, adding, “Every mouth that has spoken evil against you, God will silence them forever.”

Her response drew widespread support from fans and followers, many of whom criticised the circulation of unverified audio recordings and cautioned against actions that could harm the reputations of public figures.

Eucharia Anunobi rose to fame in the 1990s and has since appeared in numerous Nollywood films. Beyond acting, she is an evangelist and motivational speaker. She previously served as president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and remains a highly respected figure in the industry.
