In a statement shared on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, Kwankwaso said the massacre underscores the dangerous spread of violent extremism into areas that were once considered peaceful.
He lamented that the rising insecurity represents a serious threat to national stability and places enormous strain on Nigeria’s overstretched security apparatus, particularly the armed forces.
“The Federal Government cannot afford to treat these developments lightly,” he warned, calling for a decisive and coordinated national response to prevent further bloodshed.
Kwankwaso emphasized that allowing such groups to grow unchecked would exacerbate the suffering of vulnerable communities and undermine public confidence in the government’s ability to safeguard lives and property.
Describing the attack as “barbaric,” the former governor extended his condolences to the victims’ families, the people of Kwara State, and the state government.
He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and united in confronting the national security threat, stressing that government at all levels must address the situation with the urgency it demands.
