In the footage, the former Sokoto State governor is seen objecting to a seat offered to him because the APC flag was positioned directly behind it.
According to the video, former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, had invited Tambuwal to take the seat, but the ADC chieftain declined, pointing toward the party banner and reportedly requesting that it be removed.
Tambuwal appeared visibly uneasy with the arrangement, given his affiliation with a rival political party.
After brief interventions from Ganduje and other attendees, Tambuwal eventually agreed to sit, bringing the momentary standoff to an end. The exchange, however, has since generated widespread reactions online.
Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, is currently a leading figure within the ADC, one of the major opposition platforms expected to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s APC in the 2027 general elections.
