The announcement was made on Saturday in a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement, Governor Yusuf has approved the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the new Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council.
It further clarified that although members of the governing council are expected to serve a three-year term, Galadima’s tenure was cut short as part of ongoing restructuring measures within the polytechnic.
The decision, the statement noted, is tied to broader reform initiatives aimed at enhancing the institution’s performance and aligning it with the administration’s Kano First Agenda.
Despite ending his appointment before the expiration of his term, the governor expressed gratitude to Galadima for his contributions.
Governor Yusuf thanked Engr. Buba Galadima for his service to the institution and wished him success in his future pursuits, the spokesperson stated.
The governor also urged the newly appointed chairman to apply his experience and leadership skills toward repositioning Kano State Polytechnic for improved academic standards and stronger administrative efficiency.
