The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has revealed that he may contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections due to mounting pressure from parents, supporters, and associates.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sule made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday.

He, however, dismissed suggestions that he was simply following a familiar path taken by former governors who later moved to the Senate after completing their tenure.

According to him, the pressure from his supporters and those who have worked closely with him over the years has been overwhelming, making the idea of a possible return to the Senate something he is now considering. He added that he has a track record of fulfilling any public commitments he makes.

When asked whether he truly needed a senatorial position, he responded in the negative, stressing that he was already an established figure in both business and public service before becoming governor in 2019.

Sule recalled his earlier career, noting that he once served as Managing Director of African Petroleum and also held a leadership role at Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, describing these experiences as key to his prominence in the country.

He further highlighted his political leadership role, stating that he currently serves as Chairman of the North-Central Governors’ Forum. He also noted that Nasarawa State would soon host the zonal congress in Lafia in the coming days.
