Hajiya Umma died on Friday, March 27, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, where she had been receiving treatment for age-related health conditions.

The President’s message was conveyed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

In the statement, Tinubu described the late matriarch as an exceptional mother who nurtured children and grandchildren that have made meaningful contributions to the country. He noted that her life and the values she passed on remain admirable.
