The reaction comes after the party insisted on proceeding with its activities despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) withdrawing recognition of its national leadership.
In a notice issued on Friday, the party’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that the congresses would hold as scheduled, beginning with the screening of aspirants on April 7 and ending with the national convention on April 14, 2026.
He added that INEC had already been formally notified of the timetable through earlier communications.
Reacting to the development, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, criticised the party’s stance.
In a post on social media, Onanuga warned that the ADC’s continued disregard for legal processes could lead to consequences, describing the party’s actions as unlawful.
He further used a proverb to caution the party, suggesting that ignoring warnings could lead to negative outcomes.
