Joshua was ringside as Wilder battled past the experienced Chisora in a tough contest, marking the American’s return to winning form and putting an end to recent retirement speculation.

Shortly after the fight, Wilder approached Joshua, and the two shared a brief, respectful gesture before Wilder openly called for a fight, telling him, “Let’s do it.” Joshua maintained eye contact but did not respond, creating a tense moment that quickly sparked reactions online. The pair later crossed paths again backstage but avoided interaction, adding to the awkward atmosphere.

The much-anticipated clash between the two heavyweights has been discussed for years but has yet to happen. Joshua’s recent career has faced uncertainty following the loss of close friends Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele in a car accident in Nigeria last December.

However, the former champion has since returned to training, working alongside the team of Oleksandr Usyk as he prepares for his comeback fight.

Joshua’s last appearance saw him secure a knockout victory over Jake Paul, although injuries from the accident disrupted his 2026 schedule. He is now expected to return to the ring in July, with a possible high-profile bout against Tyson Fury also being considered.
